With the same basic layout since 1923 the BMW offered here is two cylinders, opposed, 2 valves per, pushrods and shaft drive for approx. 60 h.p. This 1983 BMW R100 was fully restored at a cost exceeding $15,000. Frame and body work stripped, repainted, hand pinstriped and original stickers reapplied. Work included: top end of engine rebuilt, new clutch pack installed, frame bearings
for swing arm and head reinstalled, new brake pads front and rear, new hoses and master cylinder. Forks resealed, new correct tires, new wheel bearings, new driveshaft, all new cables and vacuum lines, carbs overhauled with proper Bing parts and new exhaust tip to tip. A little over 500 of this model made it to the USA in 1983.
For the past 15 years this has been the personal touring bike of none other than Jim Cox. Owner of the Branson Auction.
